Founded in 1970, California Sea Grant is part of a national network, funded and coordinated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration through a state-federal partnership to enhance the practical use and conservation of coastal and marine resources through scientific research, education and extension.

California Sea Grant College Institutional Proposal

Information about the annual RFP will be posted in late January. This annual research funding opportunity covers a variety of subject areas supported by the multi-institutional, statewide California Sea Grant College Program.

North Central Coast MPA Baseline Data Collection Project

The North Central Coast Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Baseline Program is a collaborative effort among the State Coastal Conservancy, Ocean Protection Council (OPC), California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), California Ocean Science Trust, MPA Monitoring Enterprise, and California Sea Grant. The program seeks to provide a summary description, assessment and understanding of ecological and socioeconomic conditions, inside and outside North Central Coast MPAs to be designated under the Marine Life Protection Act, at or near the time of MPA implementation.

Request for Regional Social Science Research Proposals for California, Oregon and Washington

The California, University of Southern California, Oregon, and Washington Sea Grant Programs are jointly interested in coordinated research efforts that bring together researchers from across the region to address specific social science issues of regional priority. Projects will be selected though an open, competitive peer-review process.

Central Coast MPA Baseline Program RFP

The Central Coast MPA Baseline Data Collection Project is a collaborative effort between the State Coastal Conservancy, California Ocean Protection Council, California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG), and California Sea Grant Program, which is collecting baseline data for the Central Coast Marine Protected Areas designated by the Fish and Game Commission under the Marine Life Protection Act.
